No boring day in the office of Strobox! A near ladder crash for me, and a snapped rope that had a six meter long panel nearly collapsing into the building, had Joost and me jelly-legged for the next hour or so. It sure gave us a sharpness for the rest of the day!
My dad joined us today and flawlessly joined the well-oiled machine as if we'd already been working together for years. Very touching to feel his dedication and commitment to the building project.
We all tag-teamed on the manning of the crane; guiding and placing de panels; anchoring; winching and taping; and sawing (well, we actually just let Joost do that part, he did great!).
Still working on my burping-on-command, big fail... And its limiting my potential for a carreer as a builder.
Weather was amazing, starting with some overcast had me change my shorts for jeans, but the sun soon elbowed her way through.
Strange, leaving site for the first time since arrival to enjoy an ice cream together. Must be what mothers feel the first time they leave their baby.
My lovely neighbors, who had just moved here earlier this month after building their house too, offered to cook for me (again!) tonight which I gladfully accepted. Between the crazy whirlwind of a day, I had completely forgotten to get my empty gas bottle exchanged and it turned out I wouldnt have been able to cook up a pot myself. Letting myself be pampered by them even more, they let me take a warm shower in their recently finished bathroom!
Twas a good day. A good good day
